

Charles Ray Milam passed away on June 19th, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Charles was born on April 26, 1946. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Theron E. and Valera Iris Milam. His family were owners of Milam’s 5 & 10 Cent Stores, Milam’s Toyland and Ole Smokey Bar-B-Que. He is survived by his cousins Barbara Gann (Bill), Diana Brown both of Lubbock, TX and Peggy Hatley of Lampasas, TX. Charles graduated from Lubbock High School in 1960. He continued his education at the University of Texas where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta and where he received his BBA in 1968 and his MBA in 1970. He was the owner of Texland Resources, employed by the Securities and Exchange Commission and RTC, The Resolution Trust Corporation. Charles also received his pilot’s license.
Charles loved skiing, both water and snow, restoring cars and hunting. Charles loved life and was always ready to spend time with his friends.
Charles lived his last 20 plus years in Lubbock Texas in a private home where he was cared for and loved.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delta Tau Delta, UT of Austin, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752, on July 7, 2026, at 10:00 am.
