I worked with Chuck as we volunteered at the Reveal Resource Center. For several years, I brought a group of students with learning differences every Tuesday to develop pre-vocational skills. Chuck invested extra time teaching my students "the ropes" in his area. He went above and beyond to be a mentor to my students during our time working there. I so appreciated him!

My condolences to his family. We have eternity in our hearts and death is an interruption of the way life was supposed to be. We have this hope to be together again on the other side but the separation hurts so deeply. The love remains forever...

I praise God for my Christian brother, Chuck, and know that he is singing for God's glory in Heaven now.

Many Christian brothers, both inmates and volunteers, in Kairos Prison Ministry for the Ferguson Unit in Midway, Texas asked me to convey good thoughts to and comforting prayers for the Ockrassa family.

Chuck's friends from church, his community, Austin Disaster Relief, nearby foodbanks, and several ministries are asking, "How are we going to fill the huge gap now?"

We trust God will provide, and we thank Him for inspiring us through Chuck's tireless examples of dedicated service to God.

Chuck was an awesome guy.  My family and I loved making cookies with him for Kairos prison ministries.  He had a heart bigger than Texas.  Say hello to everyone, Chuck.  See you there.

Chuck's drive to serve the community, whether locally or globally, was inspirational. Working with him on projects at Good Shepherd or in the field with Austin Disaster Relief Network was a joy. He has left big shoes for us to fill in what it means to be present in the community—peace to his family, friends, and coworkers.

Chuck and I served at the US Army Engineer School and in both Advancia Corporation and Summit Technologies. As a Cavalryman and Army Veteran, he was a recognized expert of Engineer and Combined Arms Doctrine/Operations. But his greatest achievements were as a family man, Christian, volunteer and as a good friend to many. His life was about service to others and his legacy lives on in all he touched.

Childhood buddies are the best ones. Chuck and Don were neighbors and friends from grade school through high school. Chuck and I were planning on attending a service academy. I didn't make it, but Chuck did, and I was so happy for him. We played chess, war games, shot up his Dad's plastic ship models with a BB gun, and generally had a great time. Don, Joyce, Dorothy, Ed please know we're praying for you, and if you need anything, please call. Chuck, fair winds and following seas.

The West Point classmates of 1976 and specifically company B-2 send our best wishes to those grieving the loss of Chuck. We loved him, are saddened by the loss, and wish all of you joy as you remember a great soldier and patriot.
