Charles Quintanilla

Charles Quintanilla, 66, of Austin, Texas, passed away on March 2, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on August 18, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Josue Vargas Quintanilla and Marcelina Rivera Quintanilla.

Planning to pursue a career in photojournalism, Charles enrolled at Austin Community College after his family returned to Austin from Corpus Christi. The cost of photography supplies to pursue this dream led Charles to work for Domino’s Pizza. His leadership skills, aptitude for training, and kind heart led him to a 40-year career with Domino’s, starting as a student working in a store, to working for franchise owners, and eventually for their corporate office. With his twin brother, Richard, at his side for the journey, Charles traveled the United States training staff and evaluating thousands of stores for Domino’s.

After years of travel, Charles returned to Texas with his brother where he returned to working as a Training Manager before taking on the role of caregiver for his mother. Following the passing of his mother, Charles began working for Silverado Barton Spring Memory Care Community, where he provided care for and enriched the lives of the residents. He served in a variety of positions, from working in the kitchen to assisting nurses; he ended his tenure as an Activities Assistant, providing engaging activities for the residents.

Many will remember Charles as an animal lover and cat daddy, sharing his heart and home with many “mousers” throughout the years. He is survived by his twin brother and siblings, Richard (Roxanna), Roger (Mary), Teresa, Denise, Yvette, and David, as well as many nieces and nephews, and beloved pet Max Omar.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Josue (Joe) and Marcelina (Martha).
