

Charlie was born on May 3, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. He was the eldest son of John O. and Evelyn J. Peters, the younger brothers are Kenneth A. Peters and Michael J. Peters.
Charlie earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a teenager in Wichita, Kansas. Charlie was a firefighter with the Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became an electrician, a trade he served in for many years until the last few months of his life. He loved to fish and cook. Family was always very important to him.
Charlie spent most of his life in Oak Hill, Texas. He was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. As his children got older, they moved to the Marble Falls area. He spent the last year and a half of his life in Horseshoe Bay and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls.
Charlie is survived by his fiancée, Amanda C. Walton of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; son, Richard D. Peters of Round Rock, Texas; daughter, Jennifer K. Peters of Marble Falls, Texas; mother, Evelyn J. Peters of Austin, Texas; brother, Kenneth A. Peters and wife, Missy Peters of Cedar Park, Texas; brother, Michael J. Peters and wife, Karryn Peters of Kyle, Texas; nieces, Britni N. Peters, Brianna M. Peters, Melanie K. Peters, and Madelyn E. Peters; nephews, Blaine A. Prince, Ryan M. Peters, Matthew J. Peters, and Cody W. Willey; and by his loving dog, Snickers.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, John O. Peters and his infant sister, Cynthia K. Peters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Jon Weems to officiate. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Honoring Charlie as pallbearers will be Bill Staton, Leonard Herrera, Jimmy Herrera, Joe Biggerstaff, Tim Dixon, and Hank Fry.
The Peters family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice for the respectful care they provided Charlie in his final journey. We would also like to give loving thanks to Aunt Peggy for her help and support through these last few months.
