

Charlotte Raye Miller, noted educator, peer mediation trainer and medical health specialist passed away on Wednesday, December 18th in Austin. Charlotte was born in Austin, Texas on January 1, 1944 to Norman Theodore and Effie Nathaniel Miller.
She attended public schools in Austin, Texas graduating from L.C. Anderson High School. After attending several historically black colleges and universities she received her B.A. from the University of Houston and M.Ed from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Charlotte earned certifications and licenses in the following areas: Texas Teacher Certifications Professional/Provisional, Chemical Dependency Specialist, Licensed Master Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor. She was also certified in Mediation and a charter designee as a Texas Credentialed Mediator.
Memorial service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on 10th of January 2014 at St. James’ Episcopal Church, 1941 Webberville Road, Austin, Texas. Graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Austin Alumnae Chapter.
In lieu of flowers Charlotte has requested donations be made to the St. James’ Episcopal Church Capital Campaign Fund.
