

Chester Lee Dalton, age 78, of Cedar Park, Texas passed away on Friday afternoon, June 9, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born March 2, 1939, in Kenedy, Texas, he was the son of Gaynell (Ross) Dalton and the late Vernon Dalton. Chester was nicknamed “Beaver” by his family from the Red Ryder and Little Beaver comic strips, a nickname still used by family today.
His honorable service to his country included the US National Guard 1954-1956, US Marine Corps 1956-1959, US Marine Corps Reserves 1959-1961, and the US Air Force 1961-1978 with the majority of his career as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base. After retiring from the military and coming home to Texas, he worked on special projects for the Department of Defense and then as a project manager for Fischer Controls before finally retiring in 1991.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed many rounds of golf with his buddies. Each September he and his wife would travel to Cancun to enjoy the sun, sand, and margaritas with dear friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Raynell Dalton; along with two daughters; Sherill and Monte Franke of Austin, Texas and Tammy and Tom Boriack of Hockley, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Kyler and McKaul Boline, and Ashley, Tanner and Macy Boriack; 2 great-grandchildren Paisley and Adelyn Boline; mother Gaynell Dalton and brother Tommy Brown of Lampasas, Texas. He was also the step-grandfather of Matt and Emily Franke; Mark and Hannah Franke, Stephen and Diana Franke and the step great grandfather of Tyler, Alexis, Juniper and Luke Franke.
Visitation will be held at 1pm with the funeral service following at 3pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cook Walden Chapel of the Hills at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin with Pastor Daniel Patrick officiating. He will be buried with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio in the near future. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kyler Boline, McKaul Boline, Tanner Boriack, and Shane Brown.
