

Christopher Jon Weith, age 33 passed away on December 19, 2009. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on August 24, 1976. Chris graduated from Mineola High School in 1995 and attended Austin Community College for two years. He was a materials handler/ammunition technician for the Department of Defense at Camp Mabry National Guard Armory for three years. Chris was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps where he received the Meritorious Mast, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. As a student missionary, he served in The Ukraine where he learned the Russian language. Chris was interested in military history and weaponry. He loved animals and was devoted to his own four dogs. Chris is survived by his parents Ellen Michele Weith and Thomas Paul Weith; biological parents, Darien Brown of Folsom, NM and Michelle Jones of Clayton, NM; wife, Nicole Broussard Weith; sister, Nicole Pingleton, Overland Park, KS; half-brothers, Brian Brown, Robert Brown, Clay Jones and Jesse Jones; and aunts and uncles, Andrea Scheffer, Stephen Scheffer, Jessalyn and David Starr, Kerry and Cindy Maxam, C.R. and Karen Maxam, Christine and Nick Keelan, Richard and Kim Weith and William and Patricia Weith. The family will receive guests and friends on Tuesday, December 22 at 2:30 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish South Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. The funeral service with military honors will follow at 3:30 PM, officiated by Reverend Terrell Jones of Clayton, NM. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.org which provides programs and services to severely injured service men and women. Their mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.
