Ciro Everardo Tamez was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, on September 28, 1955. He spent 31 years in Del Rio, TX, where he raised his two daughters alongside his loving wife, Leticia Tamez. For the past decade, Ciro lived in Austin, TX, where he passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, with his family by his side.
Ciro was a devoted husband to Leticia for 42 years—always opening her door, doing the heavy lifting, and holding her hand. They were inseparable. Through their love, their daughters learned what true partnership looks like.
He had a deep love for history, board games, puzzles, and a well-timed joke—but most of all, for his family, especially his grandchildren. His joy in their presence was infectious. Whether visiting siblings, nieces, and nephews in Monterrey, sharing a meal, picking up his grandchildren from school, or traveling to North Carolina, Ciro brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia; his daughters, Cristy and Melissa; his sons-in-law, Jon and Josh; and his four beautiful grandchildren: Oliver, Emilia, Trevor, and Cadence.
Ciro will be remembered for his boundless generosity, playful spirit, signature jokes and travesuras, his unwavering devotion to family, and the calm, joyful presence he carried. His home was filled with laughter, love, and a sense of togetherness—because to Ciro, family was everything.
