C.L. was born on December 23rd, 1949, in Irving, TX, and grew up in Killeen, TX. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While at school, he met and fell in love with Wanda Ann Wheeless, and they were married in 1973. After graduating, he and Wanda moved to Austin, where he had a successful career in the manufacturing industry for several decades.
C.L. was a devout Christian and enjoyed learning and talking about the teachings of Jesus. He felt the call to serve and minister to the homeless population in Austin. He served as an executive board member and as a co-coordinator for Open Door Ministry for ten years and also as a head trustee of University UMC. He volunteered at many organizations over the past several decades and enjoyed helping people who were in need. If a person needed something, he would help them without hesitation.
C.L. enjoyed spending time outdoors, and there were a lot of great memories made while camping. He loved to go to his family farm in Sidney, Texas and traveling the country on his motorcycle to visit the different state and national parks.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two children, Aaron Evans and Laura Ingram; grandchildren, Isaac and Naomi Ingram; sisters, Carla Beckham and Melanie Alsop, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
