

Colleen Bohn Moore of Westlake, born October 2, 1928, passed away tragically on Thursday, April 6, 2006, in a fire at the familys lake home on Lake Travis. Colleen grew up in Austin, Texas, graduated from Austin High and attended the University of Texas and The University of Colorado, as a piano and voice major. Colleen is survived by her dear daughter, Sherry and her husband, Jack L. Waldrop; son, Dr. Frosty Moore and his wife, Pam.; son Robin Moore, and her much loved grandchildren: Tracy, Brian, and Michael Waldrop; Grayson, Dustin, Chance, and Dalton Moore; Shannon and her husband Andy Burl, Randy, Triston, and Hunter Moore. She is also survived by her brothers Skip Bohn and his wife, Lynn of Austin, and Robert and Gay Bohn of Saratoga , California. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to everyone who has helped us through this most difficult time. An accomplished pianist, singer, piano and voice teacher, Colleens love of music led to a long and active participation and Presidency of: the Wednesday Morning Music Club, the Austin Womens Club, the Womens Symphony League, Austin District Music Teachers Associate, Texas Music Teachers Association and National Teachers Association. Colleen also belonged to: the Austin Lyric Opera, the Bridge Club, the Dance Club, and Liz Carpenters GBATTs (Getting Better All The Time Singers), where she enjoyed singing beside her late husband, Doyle H. Moore, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2005 and who also loved to sing and play the harmonica. The loving couple won multiple awards for their dancing skills, specializing in The Jitter Bug. Her accomplishments include: Whos Who in American Women, Teacher of the Year 1983, Austin Symphony League plaque, and the Womens Symphony League plaque. She was a devoted member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church for 51 years. Her last days were spent with one of Doyles best friends and roommate from A & M, George Roberts. He comforted her during her grief with his companionship and gentleness. He perished with her and we will miss him as well. Colleen devoted her life to her family, especially her children and grandchildren; when you looked at her something glowed and changed your mood.. Those of us who were lucky enough to have known Colleen, realize that she was so much more than a list of accomplishments and awards. Her grace, warmth and tenderness will always be remembered. Her gentle and loving approach to all she did, her beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes She will be missed by so many. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Caves Road.
