Collin Hicks Ohanian

Born July 26, 1974, Collin was born and raised in Dallas, Texas by her father Jim (deceased, 2005), mother Diane, and stepmother Sandra, along with her siblings Sarah and Trey.

Upon graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School, she later relocated to Austin, a place she proudly called home for more than 25 years after attending the University of Texas at Austin.

While completing her master’s degree from the University of Houston, she met Artoush Ohanian and they later married in 2002. They had three incredible children together - Kira (18), Zooey (16), and Zane (15) – each of whom were the apple of her eye and brought incredible joy into Collin’s life.

Collin will be remembered as an incredible mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her infectious spirit constantly radiated a sense of cool, calm, and collectedness, and as such, she remains a source of strength for everyone lucky enough to have been graced with her presence. Her impact on all of our lives was immense and deeply meaningful; because of this, her friends and family will ensure her spirit lives on and continues to be celebrated forevermore.

She is survived by her mother Diane Hicks; children Kira, Zooey, and Zane Ohanian; sister Sarah Miller and her husband Brock Miller and their children Mercer and Maddox; brother Trey Hicks; stepmother Sandra Hicks; and many countless and caring family members and friends.

Memorial services and a reception will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd (3201 Windsor Road) beginning at 11:00 a.m. CST on Wednesday, June 7.
