

Costas Timotheou Evgenides, age 92, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 24, 2025. He was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church since 1985 where he and wife Ellen were active for many decades. He led a life full of laughter and adventure and was adored by all who knew him. Costas will be remembered for his remarkable life by many friends and family around the world.
Costas was born to Timothes Evgenides and Ioanna Gabrielides on July 15, 1932 in Thessaloniki, Greece. When he was 2, the family moved from Thessaloniki to Lefkosia, Cyprus. He and his two sisters grew up in Lefkosia, where their father owned a candy shop in town. In 1957, Costas moved to Austin, Texas where he attended the University of Texas and met future wife, Ellen Miller. He had a long career in accounting and finance, including a senior position for the State of Texas’ Oil and Gas Division.
Costas is survived by his wife of 64 years Ellen Miller Evgenides; his sons Timothy (Tim) Evgenides and wife Keary Kinch, children Amani Alexander and Helen Evgenides; Tobias (Toby) Evgenides and wife Sharon Wilson Evgenides, child Alistar Evgenides; sisters Veta Kyprianou and Sophia Evgenides.
A celebration of his life will be held at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, April 28 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Costas’ memory.
