
Man Court, it has been a year today. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers, as well as your family. I still wonder why God planned things this way. I hope everything is beautiful where you are. I love you and miss you and wish the best to your family.



The loss of a child is a tragedy that would be the most difficult of all to endure. Take comfort in the thoughts and prayers of all your friends and relatives. May God be with you.



Steve, Michelle,& Barb  I'm sorry it's taken me so long to do   this..but it's tough...the times together were short and few and far between, but when we had the oppertunity to share time together it was the best!!! Barb, Steve & Michelle~  I know you probably don't know me, but I am one of Mike & Sandi Bollard's nieces.  I never met Courtney but when I heard about this horrible tragedy, it really hit me hard.  Courtney and I are the same age, and I can only hope that I have had as great of an impact on people as she did on everyone. I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  I am a niece of Mike and Sandi Bollard.  I did not know Courtney but her loss is such a tragedy.  No one should have their life taken at such a young age. Steve, I am a close friend of Annes, she has spoke of you and your family often.  Her love for you has spread nationwide and her sorrow for you is felt by all she knows.  Our hearts go out to you and your family.



I am so sad to hear about Courtney passing.  I was one of her instructors for her Freshman College Adjustment class.  Courtney was a very caring and sweet individual.  She touched my heart because she was always concerned of others.  She always made sure everyone was included in every activity.  I remember the last day of class, she was the one student who wished me good luck on my presentation for a class that evening.  She was and always will be a gem our memories.    We will miss her.    I pray that she may be in Eternal Peace and I pray for her family.  Please accept my condolences.



Thinking of you in this time of sorrow.  What can one say at a time like this, your daughter was a special person who touched so many lives.  She will be deeply missed.  We have chosen to give a book as a memorial to Courtney at St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva, Iowa.

The very short time that I knew Courtney was enough to realize what a beautiful giving young woman she is. I was privledged to know her.



It's tragic when a loved one is lost during the first bloom of their life. Like a cut flower that fades so quickly without water. I'm especially sorry for those that knew her well. I don't believe I ever met Courtney, but we are related with the same last name.



Dear Barb, Steve & Michelle,   I just returned home Texas.  My heart just aches so much that I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling, but what I witnessed this past week, besides being so sad was also so very awesome. God added a very beautiful angel to His family. Just knowing that you have the support of so many prayers, family's and friends, helps being back here in Iowa a little easier and hopefully life a little more bearable for you.  It was truly overwhelming seeing this standing room only funeral and hearing the testimonies from friends, of our beloved niece and cousin, your daughter, Courtney Rae.  We always knew she was special but this showed just how beautiful, she really was, inside and out. There will always be a void without her here but a comfort knowing that she is with our Father, in heaven, smiling down on us. Our heartfelt sympathies to each of you...May the Holy Spirit fill your hearts and bring you strength and give you Peace...Our Love always,



I will always be grateful that I was able to attend the wake and funeral service of my beloved niece, Courtney. What a tribute to such a wonderful young woman! Barb,    I just don't even know where to begin. My heart hurts so bad for you. Courtney's senior picture has been hanging on my refrigerator and so many times I'd look at it and think that she was such a beautiful young woman. I'm going to find a frame for her picture and I will display it in a special place and think of her often.     While the time I spent with Courtney did not amount to many hours, it was filled with wonderful times that I will cherish forever.



Kevin and I are so sorry to hear of your loss.  We live at the corner of Rambling and Elmwood.  Kevin is a Sr. this year and knew Courtney they rode the bus together and they have mutual friends. Last semester Courtney and i were in same college adjustment class and though we never became close friends there was something about her that i was drawn to. She had the ability to make friends without saying much but just by a smile.She was always happy to see any of her classmates at any place. I can't recall her speaking ill of anyone and that really made her different, and since she is gone she will sure be missed among her many many friends.  May God bless her and rest her in heavan.



I spent three years in the CPHS band with Courtney. I can't remember a time when she didn't have a smile on her face. Courtney and I weren't really close but she always said Hi to me when I saw her. We spent a lot of time together during COOL week our junior year. I haven't seen Courtney since this summer and was shocked when I heard about her tragic death. Courtney will be missed greatly.    To Courtney's Family: I never met any of you but my heart goes out to you. I am very sorry for your loss. Courtney was a wonderful person and she will be remembered that way. Again.. Dear Barb,    Youve never been far from my thoughts these past few days. Though I only spent a few hours in total with Courtney, I feel her loss and I grieve for you. Her beautiful smile and personality are such a great testament to your parenting! I never saw Courtney without a smile on her face.  I'll never forget all the times that she made me smile.  She was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.  My thoughts are with her and her family.



In all those years of chaperoning the band, I always found Courtney to be sweet, cheerful, and polite.  No-one ever spoke ill of her.  She was a wonderful, beautiful girl who will be missed by so many.  For me, I will always remember her with a big smile on her face, because I never saw her without one.    My family saw her on New Year's Eve when we ate dinner at Macaroni Grill.  She gave me a big hug.  Now, I can't believe she is gone. There are no words to try to explain how saddened I am by the news of Courtney's death.  I am thinking of all of you this morning and wishing that I could have been there with you for the funeral and family time together.  Lacey, Sarah, Mom, and I have great memories of our trip to Texas this last summer for Courtney's graduation. I FIRST MET COURTNEY IN MY COLLEGE ADJUSTMENT CLASS, AND SOON AFTER WE DISCOVERD WE HAD U.S. HISTORY TOGETHER.  COURTNEY WAS SO NICE, AND FRIENDLY, AND SWEET.  WE STUDIED TOGETHER ONCE AND WALKED TO CLASS TOGETHER A FEW TIMES TOO. SHE WAS ALWAYS SO POSITIVE AND ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HER FACE.  SHE WILL TRUELY BE MISS, BUT I KNOW THAT HEAVEN HAS FINALLY GOTTEN BACK ONE OF THE ANGELS THEY WERE MISSING.



I will always remember the sweet girl, kind-hearted girl that Courtney was. The smile that she always had in her face, did indeed, light up the room whenever she entered it. I will not forget every time she saw me, there always would be a sweet "hi Mrs. Gott" greeting. May you find comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus in Heaven and watching over us all. Courtney was in one of my classes last semester, and lived right around the corner from me.  I would always see her out on the balcony on the phone talking to someone.  In the short time that I had to know her I could tell she was a very caring and compassionate person. She will be greatly missed by me and my classmates. ... I'm honestly in shock and I can't begin to ask God why?   I was Courtney's instructor and peer-counselor during her first semester at UTA.   She was an outstanding student and always made every effort to put in and give her very best.   We shared several stories and thoughts with me during my office hours and I found out we had a lot in common.   Courtney wasn't just another student I had in class; she was special and touched everyone in a special way.   We'll all miss her but always remember the great times we had together, knowing that we will be together again in heaven. It seems like yesterday that Courtney was in my middle school band. Courtney was more than a band member -- she was an incredible human being who always looked at the positive, and shared her gift of light with others.  Whenever I was having a bad day, or just needed to vent, Courtney would always calm me down and reassure me that things would be OK.  Her smile was a constant, and she would never neglect to say "hi".      I will miss her greatly, but I know that an angel is now in heaven and will watch us from above. My daughter, Jenny, was Courtney's roommate at UTA.  During Labor Day weekend they were homesick, but had to stay in Arlington to work at Macaroni Grill.  I could tell by the phone calls they were lonely in the nearly empty dorm during the holiday weekend.  So, Jenny's little sister, Sarah, and I drove up to Arlington.  We had a great day together.  Jenny, Courtney, Sarah and I went shopping, out to eat, to Barnes and Noble, and drove around Arlington.  I bought each girl a copy of the book "Who Moved My Cheese?," some chocolate, and a map of Arlington.  I told them to use the chocolate wisely and that "change is good."  I will never forget that wonderful day we spent together.  Courtney was on this earth to change the world and she and her memory will make this a better place.  I know all of her friends will dedicate the good deeds they do to her memory.  May God bless Courtney's family and friends.



Barb, Steve & Michelle...  I'm so, so sorry about Courtney.    I wrote this for you tonight:  A Parent's Prayer  (tribute to Courtney Foreman)    I sit here and I watch the rain  feeling nothing but the pain.  I know one day we all must die  but one so young, why, Lord, why?  So much love she had to give  she should've had more time to live.  She'll never see her wedding day,  or bring our grandkids home to play.  Can I trust you when I feel like this?  Is there really an eternal bliss?  Or has it all been one big lie-  with nothing left when we die?  I'm angry, Lord, as well as sad.  A child shouldn't die before her mom & dad.  But Jesus came and died for us  and all his suffering was unjust.  So forgive me Lord, for thinking you  couldn't understand what I'm going through.  Feelings of doubt are probably bad,  but for the times I've felt you, I'm really glad.  I know you exist no matter how I feel,  and I choose to believe you'll help me heal.  So wrap me in your peace and grace,  'til my child and you I see face to face.

Barbie, I am so terribly saddened by your loss and the loss to our entire family.  Our children are our true tressures in life and what a tressure Courtney was to you and us all.  I have fond memories of the stories Aubrey tells of spending time with Courtney, Katie and Mollie in Maine during the Graybill family reunion.  What a joy she was to Aubrey during that time.  The Texas girls made our Illinois girls, Aubrey and Emma, feel so special. I always looked forward to seeing Courtney's big smile when she came into my classroom. I had the honor of teaching her for several years at CPHS.  She loved science and was such a leader in her class. She truly loved band. She would often ask to go help out in the band hall. She had so many friends at CPHS! Courtney was a charmer. I got to know her when I was a "band mom" at CPHS. I was a chaperone for many band trips and had to make sure all the students were there. I would only "call roll" if I didn't know a students name. On one of the trips I didn't call Courtney's name and she asked "Mrs. Green, do you know my name?" I said, "yes, your Courtney Foreman." She just smiled big as Texas. I think that surprised her, but it shouldn't have, how could anyone not have known who Courtney was. She used to come visit me when I worked at the HEB Pharmacy, and I always loved seeing her. It touched my heart that a teenager would take the time to say hello to a "grown-up." I haven't seen Courtney in a little over a year, but think about her all the time. Out of nowhere I will think about the time she asked me if I knew her name and I can't help but smile. Although all the band kids were special, Courtney was one of the extra special ones. She was one of "my band kids." She will live forever in my thoughts and in my heart. This to Courtney--HEY COURTNEY FOREMAN I AM GOING TO MISS YOU SWEETHEART.
