

Curtis Watts Kininmonth passed on Wednesday, May 23, 2007. Curt was born in Winfield, Kansas on March 4, 1922 to Robert Peter and Orva Watts Kininmonth. He graduated from Graham High School and attended Texas Christian University, North Texas State University and the University of Texas. Curt honorably served his country during WWII and loved playing trombone with the US Air Force Band. Upon discharge, he continued a music career and toured the country with numerous Big Bands. Curt liked to consider himself somewhat of an entrepreneur. He worked in the gold, lumber, real estate and sporting goods industries. He enjoyed dabbling in the stock market and loved good jazz, golf and his family. Curt is survived by his wife, Helen of Austin; sister, Patti Poulsen of Rancho Santa Fe, CA; son, Curtis W. Kininmonth, Jr. of Reno, NV; step children, Laurie and Charlie Smith of Houston, TX, and Tina and Steve McCoy of New Braunfels, TX., several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. His zest for life and hearty laugh will be missed. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
