It is with great sadness that the family of Dalton Wayne Shaw announces his passing after losing his battle with cancer, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the age of 74 years. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Carol; and his children, Russ (Patsy) and Julie (Ritchy). Wayne will also be sorely missed by his grandchildren, Zachary and Kristin, and his nieces and nephews in England.
Wayne served his country in the Air Force as an air traffic controller for 21 years, including a tour in Vietnam. Then he worked for NASA training Space Shuttle pilots at White Sands Missile Range for 20 years. He then retired to Austin, Texas, to be near his grandchildren.
One of his greatest passions in life was golf. He most recently was a member of the Senior Men’s Golf Association at Grey Rock Golf Club, where he made many great friends while doing something he absolutely loved.
A Memorial Service honoring Wayne will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
