Dan Calhoun, 83, of Austin, Texas was born on February 28, 1927 to George and Bertha Calhoun in Creedmoor, Texas. He was the 11th of 14 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters. Surviving Dan is his wife Margie Calhoun of 56 years; daughters Sandy Gardner and husband Pete, Bonnie Hodgson and husband Jim, son Rory Calhoun; granddaughter Kim Talley and husband Cody; grandson Cody Gardner; great-granddaughter Bailey and Brystal; two sisters Marjorie “Sis” Benner and Verdie Finley and brother John C. Calhoun. He was a member of Manor Lions Club for 30 years and a life member of D.A.V. Chapter 4. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Manor Lions Club. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
