Danna and her siblings grew up attending Faith Tabernacle in East Austin, which was founded by their paternal grandfather, J.D. Scheumack. She attended Metz, Reilly and Ridgetop Elementary Schools and Baker Junior High, where she played the coronet in the marching band and was an “A-Team” cheerleader. She attended McCallum High where her teachers ADORED her, according to her sister. After graduation, Danna went to work for the State of Texas taking short-hand dictation and typing letters. For years, she would write down information or take notes during a conversation or sermon in short-hand and no one could read it except her.
Roland and Danna met at The Tabernacle on January 15, 1967 and married on November 22, 1968. They attended Community Church founded by Calvin and Steryl Cook and she served in the television choir and as the Secretary/Treasurer and later attended Abundant Life Fellowship. She and Roland had 5 daughters; one died at birth. In later years, Danna assisted Roland as they operated a manufacturing company that they started in 1992, except when Danna took leaves of absence to pursue her true career of choice. She stayed home to keep many of her nieces and nephews through the years, including great-nieces and nephews and loved spending time with her own grandkids when they came along.
Danna was a devoted wife, mom, Grandanna (Da-Ah, Ga-Ga), daughter, sister, and aunt. She has left a legacy that will carry on in the lives of many who loved her and whom she loved.
