

Born on May 6, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, David was the son of the late D. Lloyd and Jean Blackwell Henderson, married for 72 years. He graduated from Midland High School and went on to earn his Associate Degree in HVAC from Midland College. David spent much of his life living between Midland, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, and Austin, Texas. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent most of his career working as a skilled maintenance technician.
David was an exceptionally talented guitarist and musician, a skilled tennis player, and loved the outdoors. Those close to him will always remember his humor and impressive store of random knowledge. Later in his life, David became a devoted follower of Jesus, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with loved ones in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
David is survived by his children: James Henderson, Cory and Dawn Henderson, Joshua Henderson, Ian and Amanda Henderson, and Sarah Henderson. He was a proud grandfather to Joshua Henderson, Jr., Elliot Henderson, Jacob Kimbrough, and Katelin Kimbrough, and a great-grandfather to Brayden Wood. He is also survived by his brother, Mark and Suzi Henderson, and his sister, Debra Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Don Henderson, who passed away in 2006; and two grandsons, John Luke Henderson, 2003, and Gabriel Cole Henderson, 2007.
David was loved by many and will be missed. In lieu of flowers or other considerations, donations can be made to Glory House Christian Center in Austin.
