David is survived by his daughters, Erica Raquel Vela, Stephanie Marie Vela, Crystal Ann Vela; parents, Santiago and Gloria Vela of San Diego, Texas; sisters, Vera Ortiz and husband Albert, Gloria A. Vela and Roy Ortiz; brothers, Noe Vela and wife Virginia, Santiago Vela Jr. and wife Sylvia, Luis Vela and Tracy, Fabian Vela and wife Patricia; grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
At his request, private family services will be held on December 1, 2018.
