

Deanne was born on August 23, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Robert "Bob" and Hildred (Clark) Stenstrom. Following graduation from Johnston High School in Iowa, she enrolled at Iowa State University in Ames where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1963. She was a charter member of the Alpha Chi Omega chapter.
On May 25, 1963, she married George Jack Knox in Des Moines. From 1968 to 1985 Jack and Deanne resided in White Bear Lake and Stillwater, Minnesota where they raised their two sons. While in Minnesota, Deanne taught remedial reading and early childhood special education while earning a Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota. In 1986, Jack's job at 3M relocated them to Austin where she lived the rest of her life. In Austin, Deanne started a new career in financial services working for VALIC and Principal Financial Group.
Deanne was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and recently of All Saints Presbyterian. She spent many hours volunteering at church and for many other organizations.
Deanne had many diverse hobbies over her lifetime. Jack and Deanne bred and showed champion English Bulldogs while living in Minnesota. Deanne was a delegate to Republican State Conventions in Minnesota and Texas. Deanne loved playing bridge with friends, researching her genealogy, gardening, and travelling. She was also an active member of the Westlake Garden Club. Besides her grandchildren, Deanne's biggest passion was for her beloved Iowa State Cyclones. She watched and cheered for anything involving the Cyclones. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Deanne was a thoughtful, caring, generous person who will be dearly missed.
Deanne is survived by her husband Jack; her two sons, Jim Knox and his wife Linda of Dallas, Mike Knox, his wife Raquel and their three children, Parker, Colton and Mackenzie of Austin; and her three brothers Robert, Ron (Delores) and Art (Becky) Stenstrom. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday, December 14th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar Blvd. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 15th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 3525 Bee Cave Rd, with Rev.
