

After graduating from High School, she enlisted in the Air Force and served from March 1976 to December 1979. She was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Debbie was stationed in Japan where she had many wonderful experiences.
Upon leaving the Air Force, Debbie became a nurse assistant. She liked the work and decided to make nursing her career. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi in May 1987. She also became a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Debbie moved to Austin and secured a position in Seton Hospital. In 1989 she met her future husband, Charles and was married in May 1990.
In 1991 Debbie received her masters degree in nursing from the University of Texas. She continued to work in nursing for the next 15 years. She began having health problems in the early 2000's and decided to retire.
In 2020 medical problems became more severe. In the last half of 2023 her medical issues accelerated and she passed away in her sleep on March 28, 2024.
Debbie enjoyed dancing, movies, reading and walking trails in Round Rock. She is survived by her husband Charles, her two brothers Bruce and Paul and her beloved cat Shadow.
We miss her very much and her memory will reside in our hearts always.
A memorial service for Debra will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral H, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
