Delbert Ray Prescott

Delbert Ray Prescott joined our Lord on April 5th, 2008, after a very short battle with Cancer. Del was born in Santa Maria, California on July 20, 1948. He joined the Navy in 1965 and served 4 years in Vietnam as a gunner on a PB gunboat. After leaving the Navy, he worked for several Engineering firms. Many years later, Del settled in Round Rock where he went to school and became a Surgical Technologist. He worked with some of the finest doctors and nurses in Austin and the surrounding area. He was very dedicated to the surgery centers and the many doctors, nurses and staff that he had the opportunity and pleasure to work with. His specialty field was in orthopedics. Del enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, family and friends. He was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church where in 2007 he accepted the Lord into his life, and loved being a member of "The Little Rock Church on the Hill." He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carl Vance and Annie Mae Prescott, and nephew Ronald Lee Prescott. His loving and devoted wife, Masha Lea Prescott of 7 wonderful years, survives him. Children: Erik Warner and wife Noreen, Kelly Fluhrer, Misty Casisa and husband John, and Chief Officer Cory A. Prescott, USN and wife Josie. Brothers: James Roy and wife Janet, Ronald Lee and wife Fay. Edward L. and Wanda Johnson, Perry and Vicki Johnson, Todd Johnson, Cali and Mark Wood, Art, Karin, Brandon, Chelsea and Shelby Lee, Jeremy Irving, Amber Prescott, William Prescott, and 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Kristen, Brooke, Nikki, Chelsea, Jami, Cyle, Devon and David and 1 great-grandson, Miguel. His buddies: Fritz and Sassie his miniature schnauzers, which will miss him dearly. Services and burial will be held at Walnut Creek Baptist Church, Tuesday April 8th, located at 12062 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00am with services to follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Contributions to Austin Hospice may be made in Del's name.
