OBITUARY

Della Byrd

May 12, 1934February 10, 2021

Her journey began under the parentage of Bill and Alice Sanders in Dale, Texas on May 12, 1934. She married the love of her life, Eulish Curtis Byrd, on December 2, 1952, in Lockhart, Texas.

They soon began their family of four sons: Curtis, Neil, Michael & Kalvin.

Young Della was baptized and saved at an early age. Later, she united with Greater Holy Temple where she served as Church Mother for over 20 years. Mother Byrd loved her supportive role and worked behind the scenes in preparing delicious foods and décor for the church. The second row on the right was her favorite seat. She found joy in making clothes, playing music at home, praising God and making her yard beautiful.

Mrs. Byrd worked outside of her home for the State of Texas in housekeeping and maintenance for 30 years.

Mother Della Byrd leaves to mourn: her four sons, E. Curtis Byrd, Jr. (Jacqueline Byrd), Neil Byrd, Michael Byrd (Lauretta Byrd) and Kalvin Byrd; also four granddaughters and two grandsons, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
