Dodie’s 28 year career involved selling & listing real estate in El Paso for 17 years, where she gained many, many friends through real estate. When Dennis was transferred to Nashville, she spent the final 11 years of her career in real estate office and property management in Brentwood, Tennessee, until her retirement in 2007.
In retirement, Dodie & Dennis moved to Cedar Park, Texas, where they enjoyed the company of many friends. Dodie’s favorite pastime was playing bridge which she did at the Cedar Park Treasure of the Hills Senior Center along with various other groups of friends. Dodie spent much of her time volunteering; she was a volunteer usher at both the Austin Symphony and Zach Theater for over six years. She volunteered as Editor of the Senior Center's monthly newsletter, The Golden Gazette, for four years. In addition, she also volunteered on one of the Collection Counting teams and the Coffee and Donuts team at her church, St. Thomas More, and the church gift shop from 2009 until her cancer diagnosis in 2021.
In retirement, Dodie & Dennis caught the “travel bug” and enjoyed many wonderful trips and made some glorious memories in travels throughout the United States and abroad.
