Diana was born in Dallas, TX, February 23, 1919 to Martha and Wallace Votaw. It was in Dallas, while working as a secretary, that she met the love of her life, a handsome sailor, Wendell Larson, during WW II. They were soon married and began a beautiful life together. After the war, they moved to Austin, making it their home. Diana attended the University of TX, where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority and remained a loyal Longhorn fan until the end. She wouldn't miss watching any of their games and could name all the players on the football, basketball and baseball teams. She also followed the Cowboys with the same enthusiasm. Diana was a very creative woman with talents for decorating her home and belonged to the Garden Club, where she won many awards for her outstanding floral arrangements. She also belonged to 2 bridge clubs. She and Wendell loved to entertain in their home and she always had a contagious smile for everyone who came. They were members of a dance club, making life friendships with the other couples. They loved dancing and getting all dressed up for the events. This group began to travel together to many places in the States which lead them to different countries and numerous cruises. They really enjoyed their life together. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Wallace Votaw and her husband, Wendell Larson. She is survived by a sister, Mary Martha Votaw of Austin; a niece, Paula Riker of Hamilton, TX and her family; and a nephew, Gwyn Christensen and his wife Teresa, of Cranfills Gap, TX and their family. The family is so appreciative of the wonderful care given our loved one at Brighton Gardens Rehab Assisted Living, Emeritus at N. Austin and Hospice Austin's Christopher House.
