

Dolores Carlin, age 76, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born in Austin, Texas, on January 10, 1940, to Dave and Susie Resendez. She attended Austin High, where she met her husband Joe Carlin. They were married in Austin, Texas, on August 31, 1958. Dolores was employed with the State of Texas and retired from the Texas State Book Depository in 1993.
Dolores was an amazing woman with many talents. She was a fantastic cook, beautician, seamstress, quilter, and enjoyed painting with oils. She had an infectious personality and made a friend out of everyone that she met.
Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Joe Carlin of 58 years; and two daughters, Lisa Carlin Tapia and Dianna “DeeDee” Carlin. Dolores is also survived by two grandsons; Carlos Tapia and Chelsea, Jonathan Tapia and wife Marisa. The light of her life were her great grandsons, Jonathan and Jackson Tapia. She also had a loving pet named Champ that loved to be by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Susie Resendez.
A most loving thank you to Joe, a loving husband, Dad, and Grandfather for the love, care and support he gave to our beloved mother. Also, a very special thank you to DeeDee, Jon and Carlos for your continued help and support. She was our rock and we will miss her dearly.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., with Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 P.M., at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
