Doris Anne Rumph Loveless Adamson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in Austin, Texas. She was born in Brownsville on February 2, 1929, the fifth child of Clarice P. Rumph and Mary Rosalie Roy Rumph. She spent most of her life living in Texas.
She began her career early typing Master's Theses for students at the University of Texas, and worked several years as a secretary and office manager for a credit union, a carpenter's union and an abstract company. Later she owned a business selling watches and jewelry and became one of the earliest professionals to sell inventory online. However, her passion in life was her home and her children. She spent the last 30 years living in Granite Shoals enjoying life on Lake LBJ surrounded by family, friends and loving neighbors. Most recently she lived her final 18 months near family at the Gracy Woods II Living Center in Austin, and was their most popular resident, loved by all the staff.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harrington “Hank” W. Loveless and her son, Lawrence “Larry” W. Loveless.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Clint Adamson; her children, Karen A. Hirschman, Allan H. Loveless, Randolph P. Loveless and Lizette M. Fleming; Clint’s children, Peggi and Gene; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Harold H. Rumph, Charles W. Rumph, David M. Rumph, Benjamin F. Rumph; sister, R. Kay Sorrels; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Doris’ Life in the Chapel officiated by Dr. Ralph Mann. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
