She was preceded in death by her parents S. S. Sr and Elnora Pillans, sister Maidie Digby, brothers Howard, Lawrence, Mack and S. S. Jr; husbands Earl Carlson and Buck Baker, niece Barbara Pillans, nephew Donnie Pillans and beloved lifelong friend Juanita King.
She is survived by her sons Mike (Jana), Gary (Karen); grandchildren Benji (Courtney), Amy (John), Melissa Cunnyngham, great-grandchildren Zoe, Noah, Austin and Wyatt; beloved nieces Linda Barfield, Joy McCollum, Patty Frantz, beloved nephew Jerry Pillans and beloved friends Dorman and Cheryl King.
Doris graduated from Austin High School, worked in the medical field and was a licensed realtor. She was active in Gideons International, Golden K Kiwanis and taught international students at Hyde Park Baptist Church, where she was an active member. She loved missions work and travelled to Europe, Russia, Africa, South America, Australia and China spreading the gospel and the good news of Jesus Christ.
Doris was always thinking of others and was very generous with her time, talents and treasure. She loved Hyde Park Baptist Church, travel, bluebonnets and the Texas Longhorns, Hook ‘em Horns!
Doris had enthusiasm for life. She loved her family and her Lord Jesus Christ and constantly served Him during her life. Matthew 6:33

A visitation will be held at 2:00 pm followed by services at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway, Austin, TX.
