Doris Jo Murdaugh (Turner), 85 of Austin passed away February 7, 2014. She was born in Greenville, Texas on November 30, 1928 to Luther and Lella Turner. She attended public school in Greenville where she met and married her high school sweetheart George A. Murdaugh. Upon moving to Austin she enjoyed a 34 year career in the State Comptroller Office. Doris Jo was an avid antique collector as well as a huge fan of the University of Texas Athletics.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Murdaugh; parents, Luther and Lella Turner; brother, Gerald Turner and his wife Gaynelle.
Doris Jo is survived by her only child, Mark Murdaugh and his wife Melissa of Austin; one granddaughter, Nicolette Murdaugh of New Jersey; and three step-granddaughters of Pflugerville.
There will be a private family ceremony.
