Dorothy “Dottie” Zenobia Bryant was born on January 4, 1962 in Houston, TX to Leo Daniel and Ethel Bernice Bryant. She joined two older brothers, one older sister and was later blessed with a baby sister.
Dottie attended Contemporary Learning Center in the Houston Public School System where she graduated with honors. She later went on to further her education at Jarvis Christian College.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Studewood Church of Christ. She joined First Baptist Church after she relocated to Austin, TX, where she remained a faithful Christian until her death.
Dottie spent her life devoted to her family and friends. She loved and cherished her family more than anything. She was a God fearing woman, a great source of inspiration, and would often pray publicly for her friends and family. She formed memories and brought a smile to the faces of all that she encountered. She was also loved by so many people.
In 2004, she suffered a stroke but remained active and could still be found doing the daily duties as she did before. She was blessed with the gift of gab and would always be found talking to family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and taking her grandkids, nieces and nephews to the park. Dottie would also be seen often riding around Austin in her local neighborhood in an effort to remain independent.
She leaves to cherish the precious memories of her life, her two sons, DeMichael (Ebony), and DeMarcus; two grandchildren, Aden and Emory; three brothers, Leo (Roz) of Japan, Lee (Helon) and Ronald (Bertha) of Houston, TX; three sisters, Sharon (Keith) of Austin, TX, Doris and Lillie of Houston, TX. A very special adopted sister Trullia Ann King. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She has went on to join her mother, Ethel Bernice Rogers Bryant, father Leo Daniel Bryant, grandmother Lillie Ethel Bryant as well as other loved ones that proceeded her in death. Her spirit, smile, stories, and laughter will forever live on. She will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
