Dorothy Jean Pence

She was born in Corinth, Kentucky on February 13, 1932. At the time of her death, she lived in New Braunfels, Texas.

Dorothy and Wayne were married in 1952 in Ford, Kentucky. In 1967, they moved to Austin, Texas with IBM and created a wonderful life with their four children. The family loved being in the Austin area and established many lifelong friendships. Their home was always open to any family and friends that wanted to visit, and they enjoyed entertaining at home or around Austin.

Our mom was an amazing woman and sincerely loved her family and friends. She was a blessing and inspiration to so many people she knew throughout her life. She loved all the special times being with family and celebrating life. She was supportive, encouraging, generous, and loved helping others whenever she could.

We will miss her tremendously and will cherish the wonderful memories we shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, her brothers and sisters, her son-in-law Jay Wampler and grandson William. She is survived by her sons, Terry and wife Jane Ann, Steve and wife Sandy, Mike and wife Colette, and daughter, Kim Wampler. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kate Malo and husband Sam, Jeffrey Pence and wife Caroline, Wayne Pence, Sara Hayward and husband Land, Rachael Pence, Bryce Pence, Adam Wampler and wife Linder, and Matthew Wampler. She is also survived by her great-grandsons Graham Pence and Colin Wampler.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 1st at 11am at Central Christian Church, 1110 Guadalupe Street, Austin, TX 78701.
