

Her parents were married for a short time, and Anne remained with her father, Frank. Various family members and others took care of Anne for the first 3-4 years of her life.
Frank married Virginia Dal Secco in May 1927 and took Anne to live with them in Wichita, Kansas. Virginia was “Mom” to Anne, and they were very close. Anne became the oldest of her siblings: Susan Marie, born 1948, Charles Michael, 1951, and James Frank Jr. 1953.
After High School. Anne had a short marriage to Don Goodwin. She attended Wichita State University, where she earned a business degree. She married Charles Bradley (Brad) Brooker in 1973. Together they had a son, Charles Christopher (Chris) Brooker, in 1975. Anne and Brad divorced later that year. Anne moved with her one-year-old son, Chris, to Birmingham where she received her Master's degree from the University of Alabama, with many hours toward her PHD. Upon graduation, she and Chris moved to Dallas to be close to her 3 siblings.
Anne was very bright and had various careers always providing for her son Chris. She started a mortgage company, Southwest Funding. She loved to travel, taking Chris on a trip around the world. Anne’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, where she loved to cook and share the festivities with family.
Anne moved to Austin Texas while her son Chris was in college, where she resided until her death. Anne died under Hospice Care peacefully at Stonebridge Nursing and Rehab, Austin Texas September 29, 2026.
Anne is survived by her son, Dr. Chris Brooker and wife Emily, and her 2 grandchildren, Nathan and Kinsley of Peoria, Arizona, brothers Mike and wife Terry Traner of Arlington, Tx, and Jim and wife Donna Traner of Atlanta Ga. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Traner in 2025.
