Douglas "Buster" Wade Cavin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2026, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents Hoyt and Lena, his siblings Junior, Donald, Thomas, Peggy, and Mickey.
Buster was a cherished husband and devoted father whose love for his family was at the heart of his life. He will be remembered for the love, strength, memories, and moments he shared with those who meant the most to him. His greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue.
He was survived by his beloved wife, Karen Cavin, as well as his children Diana, Douglas, Shannon, Danny and Donny. He also leaves behind his siblings Dorothy, Billie Jo, and Wayne. He was fortunate to be blessed with 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who were the light of his life.
His family finds comfort knowing that his journey is now complete and that he is reunited with those he loved and lost before him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who called him husband, Dad, Papa, brother, and friend. We are certain that he's singing with the angels and mowing the greenbelts of heaven.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A Celebration of Life for Douglas will begin at 11:00am with a reception to follow.
