

As a member of the Greatest Generation, Doyle faithfully joined the U.S. Navy in 1943, when he was just 17 years old. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1946. On December 17, 1949, Doyle married Jessie Lou Collier in Austin, Texas. He was a member of Parker Lane Methodist Church.
Doyle attended Nixon Clay College, where he studied Business. He worked for the Texas Highway Department in the Materials and Test Division.
He was a lifelong member of the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge and he was also a member of the Shriners.
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lou Collier and by his siblings: James O. (Sonny) Collier, Lucille Cater, Lois Waggoner, and Jewel Graham. He is survived by his son, James Curtis Collier.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 W. William Cannon Drive. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Collier are: Stephen Buzz Roye, Charles Michael Roye, Russell Clay Woodland, and Thomas J. Mahoney. Honorary pallbearers are A.M. (Woody) Woodward, Forest Cruse, Hilmor Krause and Robert Shrader.
