

Eddie Carol Bostic, 89, of Austin, Texas, passed away on January 28, 2025, peacefully in his sleep. Eddie was born December 10,1935 in McDade, Texas, the son of William and Kathryn (Hall) Bostic. Eddie was a proud Austinite and graduated from Austin High School in 1954.
Eddie married Joan Meadows on November 28, 1956. Joan worked and supported Eddie while he attended and graduated from The University of Texas in 1958 with a degree in Business. Eddie’s first job was with Atlas Cement in Wichita Falls. Eddie and Joan made the drive and moved in with two folding chairs and two army cots. There they were blessed with their son, Todd. They left Wichita Falls in 1966 and relocated to Waco where they welcomed their daughter, Julie. The family was able to make the move back to Austin when Eddie accepted a sales role with Austin White Lime Company in 1972. Eddie loved traveling around Texas selling lime. He had many a golf outing or card game set up from one town to the next. He retired from Austin White Lime in 2008.
Eddie always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He loved his family and was very proud of them all. He never missed a ball game, recital, or event that anyone was in. Eddie and Joan were long-time members of Balcones Country Club and most Saturday mornings you could find him out on the course. Eddie loved watching baseball and football especially when his Longhorns were playing.
Remaining to cherish Eddie’s memory are his wife of 68 years, Joan Bostic, daughter Julie Hogenmiller and her husband Doug; four grandchildren, Ashley Hogenmiller, Kendall Hogenmiller, Ethan Hogenmiller, and Kaitlyn Bostic; one great grandson, Carter Teston; and his beloved brother-in-law Don Meadows and wife, Brenda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as other extended family. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathryn Bostic, much loved son, Todd Bostic, as well as brothers-in-laws, David Meadows and Wayne Meadows, and sister-in-law, Becky Lenamond (Meadows).
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 2nd from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home at 5416 Parkcrest Dr. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3rd at 10:00 am at the same location with a reception following the service. Honorary Pall Bearers are Don Meadows, Doug Hogenmiller, Ethan Hogenmiller, David Meadows, Adam Meadows, Terry Jackson, John Jefferson, and Glen Dee Weise.
