

James Eddie Latham of Manchaca, Texas died peacefully in the arms of his wife, in the last minutes of the night on Sunday, June 9th, 2013 at the age of 56 after his 2 year fight for his life with lung cancer. His life was well lived and he will be dearly missed.
Eddie is preceded in death by his father, JT "Brownie" Latham and his mother, Iva Lee Newland Latham.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Tina Jean Latham and her son, Brendon Hendrix; daughter, Brook Greenberg, her husband Brandon Greenberg and was blessed with their two daughters; granddaughters Presley Faith and Sawyer Grace Greenberg. Eddie was the Baby Brother of his surviving siblings; his older sister Jean Ann Smith and husband Frank, his brother Tommy Ray Latham and wife Patricia and his sister Betty Fay Puckett and husband Jay. Also surviving Eddie are nieces; Terri Wells, Angela Smith, Debra Davis and nephew, Justin Schraeder their spouses; Sammy Wells, Greg Davis and Amber Schraeder; with great nieces and nephews, Scooter, Ashley, Katherine, Grace, Lacy, Madison, Landry, Nathanael and Camryn; his uncle, J.C. Newland and his wife Dorothy with cousins; Barbara, Karen, Diane and David, their spouses and their children along with cousins, April, Chris, Christopher and Julia.
Eddie was born in Crosbyton, Texas on December 27, 1956 and his family moved around to a few small Texas towns then settled in Clifton, Texas where he experienced his childhood and adolescence. He worked with his dad around town, drove a truck for his dad, graduated from Clifton High School, tried a year of Junior college and decided to take a different direction in life. Eddie became a successful business man when he found his niche as a sales person. He traveled the states chasing weather storms; working for roofing companies before settling in Austin, Texas and taking roots with his roofing company, Longhorn Roofing for a successful twenty years. He sold his company and retired to his real estate business to keep from getting bored. Eddie loved shooting pool, fishing, his corvette, his yard, reading, baseball and most of all his family and friends.
Eddie was baptized on March of 2013 and was at peace with his life. He was blessed with the time to reach out to all his friends and family before leaving this life. He is breathing gently and will be waiting for all of us with open arms.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Eddie's life and honor him will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704.
Eddie's favorite Charities were Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, and American Lung Assoication.
