Edna Zoch Hagood

Edna was born on October 21, 1916, in Walburg, Texas to Robert and Selma (nee Buchhorn) Zoch. She met Jim Hagood and they married April 26, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, Texas. They were married 24 years before Jim went to heaven in 1959. Edna and Jim ran a Conoco Station for many years. After Jim's passing, Edna went to work for Seton Hospital where she worked until retirement. Edna was active in her church all her life, teaching Sunday School, and working with women's groups until she no longer was able.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Selma Zoch, her husband Jim Hagood, her sisters Irene Zoch, Anita Wappler, Ruby Hart and Gladys Miller and her brother Helmuth Zoch, brother-in-law Joe Wappler, her son Don Hagood, her son-in-law, Luther Priem, her daughters-in-law Judy Hagood & Helen Hagood.

Edna is survived by 4 children: Eugene, Vivian, Patricia and Howard, daughter-in-law LaVerne, brother- in-law, Louis Miller her seven grandchildren: Larry Hagood (Marvel), Linda Zarsky (Kenneth), David Priem (Joyce), Jerry Priem (Shelley), Lori Martin (Carl), Steven Hagood (Terri), Kevin Hagood (Katrina), and by her 17 great grandchildren: Kiesha Priem (Aaron Steger), Benjamin Priem (Courtney), Tahnee, Keara, Chelsea, Marci, Joshua and Zachary Priem, Jacob, Luke, Emma , Cody, Katlyn, Todd, and Brittany Hagood and Taylor & Will Zarsky.

The family appreciates the patience and loving care received by Altus Hospice over the last year.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from three o’clock until five o’clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, the 12th of July 2015, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 13th of July 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1207 W 45th Street, Austin, Texas 78756.
