Edna Wegner McKelvey

McKelvey, Edna, 79, retired food service supervisor for the Austin State Hospital, died Oct. 5, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard B. McKelvey, son Edward McKelvey, brother Harold Wegner. She is survived by son Myron McKelvey and wife Cindy, daughter Carol Roberts, five grandchildren, Rebecca Roberts Owen, Michael McKelvey, Matthew McKelvey, Patrick Roberts, Timothy McKelvey, and one great-grandson, Dylan McKelvey. She is also survived by two brothers, Raymond Wegner and Alfred Wegner, and four sisters Helen Draeger, Esther Webb, Weda Campbell and Jean Wegner.

Edna was a faithful member of Ascension Lutheran Church and previously of Faith Lutheran Church, both of Austin. She was passionate about gardening and keeping her yard in perfect condition, and volunteered at church until her health prevented her from doing so.

Visitation will be at held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 North Lamar. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 6420 Hart Lane, with Rev. Brian Peterson officiating, burial service to follow at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ascension Lutheran Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
