Elda Garza Morales

Elda G. Morales, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and woman of deep and unwavering faith, passed away at the age of 91 on September 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, family, and a life devoted to serving others.

Elda was an extraordinary woman whose life was centered on her faith in God and her love for her family, friends, and church family. She was deeply devoted to ministry and faithfully served in church leadership and as a Sunday School teacher for more than 60 years. Her ministry included serving at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Pontiac, Michigan, as well as Primera Iglesia Bautista in Austin, Texas and Iglesia Bíblica Bautista Sendas Antiguas in Creedmoor, TX.

Ministry was one of Elda’s greatest joys. She loved equipping others with the Word of God and helping them grow in their faith. Her desire was not simply to teach, but to encourage, guide, and prepare others to serve the Lord. Her faith was more than something she professed—it was something she lived each day through her kindness, generosity, compassion, and love for those around her.

Family was at the heart of Elda’s life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and took great pride in the family she helped build. She was always ready with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, a prayer, or a helping hand. Her love made people feel safe, welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Elda also had a special gift for serving others in both practical and spiritual ways. Her home and her table were places where people were welcomed with open arms. She loved to cook and share food with others, and there was always room for one more at her table. Feeding others was one of the many ways she expressed her love. Whether someone was family, a friend, a neighbor, or simply someone in need, Elda was quick to offer whatever she could.

She gave generously of herself without expecting anything in return. She believed in helping others, caring for those in need, and being a blessing wherever she could. Her acts of kindness, her prayers, her laughter, her wisdom, and especially her love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Elda is survived by her beloved brother, Virgilio Garza, and her four beloved children and their spouses: Joe and Tina Morales, Lydia and Carlos Perez, Elda and Kevy Rojas, Sam and Sonia Morales.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Marina Morales, Clint Morales, Andrew Morales, Diego Morales, Lydia Ayala, Karla Bradford, Kevy Benjamin Rojas, Leah Rojas, Zach Rojas, Sophia Rojas, Sammy Morales, and Alejandra Morales, along with her beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy and were an important part of her legacy.

To her family, Elda was so much more than a mother and grandmother. She was a source of strength, faith, wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. Through the way she lived, she taught those around her the importance of faithfulness, generosity, service, and love. The lessons she shared and the example she set will continue from one generation to the next.

Although her family will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in the faith she held so dearly. After 91 years of faithfully loving God, serving others, and caring for her family and friends, Elda has gone home to be with the Lord. Her legacy of faith and love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, sister, teacher, and friend.

Elda G. Morales, amada madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana, amiga y mujer de una fe profunda, falleció en paz a la edad de 91 años el 18 de septiembre de 2026, rodeada del amor y la compañía de su familia. Deja tras de sí un hermoso legado de fe, amor, familia y una vida dedicada al servicio de los demás.

Elda fue una mujer extraordinaria cuya vida estuvo centrada en su fe en Dios y en el amor que sentía por su familia, sus amistades y su familia de la iglesia. Estuvo profundamente dedicada al ministerio y sirvió fielmente en el liderazgo de la iglesia y como maestra de escuela dominical durante más de 60 años. Su ministerio incluyó su servicio en Primera Iglesia Bautista en Pontiac, Michigan, así como en Primera Iglesia Bautista de Austin, Texas e Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Austin, Texas y finalmente en Iglesia Biblica Bautista Sendas Antiguas en Creedmoor, TX.

Enseñar y preparar a otros para servir al Señor llenaba de gozo el corazón de Elda. Le encantaba compartir la Palabra de Dios, ayudar a otros a crecer en su fe y animarlos a descubrir cómo podían servir al Señor. Su deseo no era solamente enseñar, sino también animar, guiar y preparar a otros para servir a Dios. Su fe era mucho más que algo que profesaba; era algo que vivía cada día a través de su bondad, generosidad, compasión y amor por quienes la rodeaban.

La familia ocupaba un lugar central en el corazón de Elda. Amaba profundamente a sus hijos y nietos y se sentía muy orgullosa de la familia que ayudó a formar. Siempre estaba dispuesta a escuchar, ofrecer una palabra de ánimo, hacer una oración o brindar una mano amiga. Su amor hacía que las personas se sintieran seguras, bienvenidas, valoradas y cuidadas.

Elda también tenía un don especial para servir a los demás, tanto en sus necesidades prácticas como espirituales. Su hogar y su mesa eran lugares donde todos eran recibidos con los brazos abiertos. Le encantaba cocinar y compartir sus alimentos con los demás, y siempre había lugar para uno más en su mesa. Alimentar a los demás era una de las muchas maneras en que expresaba su amor. Ya fuera un familiar, un amigo, un vecino o simplemente alguien que necesitaba ayuda, Elda siempre estaba dispuesta a ofrecer lo que estuviera a su alcance.

Daba generosamente de sí misma sin esperar nada a cambio. Creía en ayudar a los demás, cuidar de quienes lo necesitaban y ser una bendición para todos aquellos que se cruzaban en su camino. Sus actos de bondad, sus oraciones, su risa, su sabiduría y, sobre todo, su amor serán recordados por todos los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.

Elda deja a su amado hermano, Virgilio Garza, y a sus cuatro queridos hijos y sus respectivas parejas: Joe y Tina Morales, Lydia y Carlos Perez, Elda y Kevy Rojas, Sam y Sonia Morales.

También deja a sus nietos: Marina Morales, Clint Morales, Andrew Morales, Diego Morales, Lydia Ayala, Karla Bradford, Kevy Benjamin Rojas, Leah Rojas, Zach Rojas, Sophia Rojas, Sammy Morales y Alejandra Morales, así como a sus amados bisnietos, quienes le brindaron una gran alegría y fueron una parte importante de su legado.

Para su familia, Elda fue mucho más que una madre y una abuela. Fue una fuente de fortaleza, fe, sabiduría, consuelo y amor incondicional. A través de la manera en que vivió, enseñó a quienes la rodeaban la importancia de la fidelidad, la generosidad, el servicio y el amor. Las enseñanzas que compartió y el ejemplo que dejó continuarán de generación en generación.

Aunque su familia sentirá profundamente su ausencia, encuentra consuelo en la fe que ella sostuvo con tanto amor. Después de 91 años de amar fielmente a Dios, servir a los demás y cuidar de su familia y amigos, Elda ha regresado a casa para estar con el Señor. Su legado de fe y amor vivirá en todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla.

Será profundamente extrañada, amorosamente recordada y vivirá para siempre en el corazón de todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de llamarla Mamá, Abuelita, Bisabuelita, hermana, maestra y amiga.

A Committal Service will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749, US, on September 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
