

Elizabeth Q. Miller was born July 2, 1914 and passed away March 29, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Qualia of Del Rio; husband, Walter; sister Beatrice Ballard and husband Hugh; brother, Ernest Qualia and wife Dorothy; granddaughters, Julie Miller and Lezlie Jones. She is survived by her three children, Walter John Miller and wife Leola, Frank A. Miller and wife Sandra, Bernadette Rainosek and husband Gary. Elizabeth was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Her only regret in life is that her husband Walter did not live to love and enjoy all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as many years as she was blessed to be with them. Elizabeth was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America and held positions of sentinel and pianist. She provided the musical accompaniment for Mrs. Edwards dance school and the Senior Choir under the direction of Eleanor Miller in Del Rio, Texas. She shared many musical programs with her brother Ernest including live radio broadcasts from Mexico, church and community functions. Elizabeth also loved reading, poetry and gardening. In 1939 Elizabeth married Walter Miller of Roswell, New Mexico. After her marriage she discontinued her music career and traveled with her husband and family. In 1953 they settled in Austin and Elizabeth continued her new career as a loving wife and mother while volunteering at St. Ignatius Martyr Church and School. As her children continued their education, Elizabeth remained a volunteer for many student/parent activities. Throughout her life, she was a devout Catholic attending church services regularly and continuing to provide love, support and a helping hand with many church activities and projects. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Ignatius Martyr Church, St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and/or Hospice Austin. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, at St. Ignatius Martyr Church with Father Joseph Tomei, CSC officiating. Christian Burial at Assumption Mausoleum.
