
My precious Liz, I can't believe you are gone from my life . Who on earth is now going to  call me and amke me laugh until tears runn down my face, and your stomach hurts from all the joy and laughter you brought into my life. I will never forget the day's and nights we all spent together, laughing, going to Ireland, France. And laughing everyday, you had such a gift, I always told you, you should have been a stand up comendian.  
I will miss you all the days of the rest of  my life. We were so looking forward to you and Jerry ( and your Baby) coming to see us the week-end you left us.
I know you are at peace and sfe with God, and God must be laughing his head off at your funny jokes and your precious personality. I loved you so much and I will miss you the rest of my days on earth. I had just received your card about Joshua, our granson that morning, and then later in the afternoon, we received the call from our precious that you had left us also. Elizabeth would be very happy knowing that so many people loved and cared for her. She will be missed by all of us. I will fill the deep hole in my heart with the good memories we shared for 50 years. She followed me all over the world supporting my career. She was a great and dedicated American. we all were shocked about the notice, that Liz has gone so early. ItÂ´s not easy to express our feels in a foreign language, but we hope you still can understand how deeply we are affected. We truly feel sad, she was such a wonderful person. We were neighbours during your stay in germany, and we really enjoyed living next to you during that time. You and Liz were the friendliest and best neighbours we ever had in that house next to us.

My Mother, My Freind, My World. She will always be in my heart and soul!



I still can't believe that Aunt B is gone. This has reminded me how quickly life can change, and that we need to tell those we love and cherish all the important things because you just never know- you may not get the chance if you put it off until tomorrow..

I always loved when Aunt B and Uncle G would come to Iowa to visit when I was growing up. It was so cool to have family that lived in so many places. And though much time had passed sometimes since the last time we all saw eachother, it always felt like it was just last weekend. 

I got the sweetest card from Aunt B the Christmas after Addison was born. I've been thinking about it a lot since I got the news and wish I could find it. It was written with a whole lot of love :-)

Uncle G, Jim, Tami, Amy and Colby- you are all in my thoughts and prayers. My heart is breaking for all of you... May you find comfort and peace in memories and in one another. Love you all!!

We meet Jerry & Liz while living in England.  The friendship came naturally.  Liz was there for us when we needed help and we are forever grateful.  Our paths continued to cross both in Europe and Virginia until Jerry retired  and moved away with Liz to be closer to home and the kids. Dear Family, When I was young Aunt B would always fix my hair for me. I loved when she was there for my school pictures, my pictures were cool. She always had great stories from their travels around the world. Love to Uncle G, Jim and family, Tami and her family, sendin you hugs, always in our hearts and prayers. I never knew her or her family well however when another one of our former neighbors moved, she had kept in touch with him. He too lost a loved one and she was kind enough to let me know. That was our only conversation.
Thoughtfullness never goes out of style and usually shows the true nature of a person. I know she must have been a fantastic person in general.
To the family I can only say that in God's hands she knows only the blessings and good things HE promised to all persons. Rejoy in that knowledge and treausre the memoreis she left behind.



We were neighbors for 9 years and had so many good times .  I was so shocked when I got the news and am so sorry.  I am expressing my condolences to Jerry and his family.







In 1998, we moved to Germany, working for the Army.  As we looked for housing out on the German economy, we ended up in a little town outside Weisdbaden, driving down this off the beaten path road looking for the address Housing had given us.  As soon as we saw the big purple Lincoln in the driveway next door, we knew we had found the right place. Liz and Gerry became our neighbors for the next year, and better neighbors we couldn't have had!  It was as if we had known them long before this chance sharing of a small German village.  Liz took us under her wing right away, inviting us to gatherings at her home all the time.  Then lo and behold we both end up in the Fort Hood area when returning home.  And again, we always got warm welcomes from Liz. Our daughter loved visiting, swimming in the pool, talking to "Miss Liz." 

 I believe we meet certain people for specific reasons, and I firmly believe that of Liz Snodgrass.  Warm, funny, great wit.  I thank you, God, for giving us the chance to know Liz.  God Bless you, Gerry, we have you in our prayers.



I didn't know Liz very well but did have an opportunity to have dinner with her and Jerry.  My wife (Gwen) and I have fond memories.  I have known you (Jerry) for some time and I can't begin to know what you are going through.  Please know that Gwen and I have you and your family in our thoughts. Jerry and I have become friends through a Military specific site on fb.  We came to understand that our lives during and after the was fave been simular.  We realized that what held us together all these years is the love of a good woman.  We know that any sucess in life we experienced hindged around the support our wives gave is in whatever we direction we went in.  Although I never actually met Liz, I know the kind of woman she was through my conversations with Jerry.  I keep the family in my thought and prayers.



When I first met Mrs. Snodgrass she was very kind to me, and she really seemed to want me to succeed.  I am saddened by her loss, so I cannot imagine what sadness looms over your family's heart.  As we go through life and look back at all our accomplishments, I think our greatest accomplishment will be how fondly we are remembered by our family, friends, and others.  IF that is true, Mrs. Snodgrass accomplished very much.  Although it has been 24 years since I last saw her, I will miss her, but I will always remember her.  God bless my friends the Snodgrass family.  May you take comfort in knowing how much people loved, respected, and generally liked your wife, mother, and grandmother.

After rewriting this 3 times I think this is the memory I want to share.... All the times they came to visit us in Iowa.  She was always so glad to see us and spend time with me.  I would wait at the front window until they would pull up our long driveway.  Being with them all was the highlight of my summer.  

Nine years ago we took our three children to Austin and stayed with them for a week.  Aunt B had all kinds of special food for James, Laura and Wil.  Wil was 6 and said to Aunt B and Uncle G,"I love these Texas waffles."  I thought they were both going to crack up since they were just Eggos.  

I love you Aunt B and will miss you.  You will always have a special place in my heart.

We love Liz with all our hearts! She was a bright light that everyone was drawn too. She was entertaining, exciting and made us laugh. There will never be another Liz, she was a one of a kind! 
Liz was family, infact I was closer to her that my own mother. My girls, Sarah & Liitle Liz and we would call her, were so much closer to Liz than there own grandmothers. We have such a whole in our hearts and feel for her family.

I am another friend who played Canasta with Liz at the Baca Center.  She was so down to earth and such a delight to know and to spend fun time with.  I just talked with her on Tuesday and when I heard this morning that she had passed away I just could not believe it.  I have found myself just shaking my head all day in disbelief.  She will definitely be missed.  My condolences to the family.  I'm so sorry for your loss.



I am in Liz's Canasta group at the BACA Center.  I wanted to let the family know what a wonderful impression that she made on me, as well as the whole group.  We were with her Tuesday for Canasta, and she walked over to our table.   I remember thinking how warm, fun and friendly she was - easy to talk to.  And such a pretty lady.  We will truly miss her!
