Elizabeth was born in Del Rio, Texas where she faced the loss of her parents at a young age. She quickly became the heart and home of her siblings. She began working to support her family, showcasing a work ethic and sense of responsibility that would define her life. Elizabeth often reflected on those years, reminding us that even in the toughest times, there was always a reason to smile and find joy.
As a devoted military wife for 20 years, Elizabeth stood strong beside her husband, Salvador as he served our country. Together, they raised five wonderful children, instilling in them the importance of family, faith, and selflessness. No matter the challenges they faced, Elizabeth always found a way to ensure her family was cared for, often putting their needs before her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Senona and Candelora Huerta, her twin brother, Esequiel Huerta; her sister, Raquel Martinez; her brother, Armando Huerta; her grandchild, LCpl David Benavides and the love of her life, Salvador Sustaita, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Salvador, Jr., Norma, Selina, Daniel, and Rebecca; her 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Febe Rivera.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she will be truly and deeply missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace, mom. Your love will continue to guide us, and our memories of you will forever remain in our hearts.
