My Memories and 
Commentary on Aunt Ella

Aunt Ella was a beautiful lady with this charming North Carolina accent. She was mother to three wonderful children – Nancy, Albert & Lori. I recall many visits to her home with my sisters where we played in the backyard and enjoy great meals in the kitchen. She met Uncle Benny in North Carolina during WW II when he was a Marine. I feel a personal connection because during the Vietnam war I was also a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. And in the Marines we have the slogan Semper Fidelis – Always Faithful. During her long life this sentiment applies perfectly to her. Rest In Peace Aunt Ella. 

Dear, sweet Ella. You were my friend and neighbor for 51 years.  You were my mentor, my confident, my role model, my walking companion and a very important part of my faith journey.  Every day we walked and "solved all the problems of the world".  We laughed and sometimes we cried.  We prayed together as we walked.  We even were  asked to choose the "yard of the month".  What a job!  I often called you the "energizer bunny".  As Morey said in , "Tuesdays with Morey,  Death ends a life, not a relationship."  I will have a relationship with you for all eternity.  Angels wings your way.  Love and prayers.  Sue Shirley

So blessed for so many years with my mother and many thanks for all the kind words. She walked the walk for what we are expected to do. Her gift was what I called holding court/educating and sharing her wisdom. It was done when and wherever required (in the home, at work, on the porch, on the sidewalk  and finally  at the nursing home) She taught the value and benefits of faith, love, honesty, compassion, forgiveness,  education and work ethic. Will be missed but never forgotten. 

Ella was a favorite neighbor of all of us who had opportunity to know her.  I know Ella lived a full Christian life and will be remembered by so many.  I feel blessed to have had her for a part of my life for a very short time.   Condolences and "happy memories" to all her family and loved ones.  Joan Costello, Fort Mason neighbor.

Aunt Ella Mae was such a joy! I am so sorry for our loss but happy for heaven’s gain. She will be greatly missed. Love you all! Kim and girls

I'm thinking of Ella and my Mom (Marie Bargas) happy to be together again.  Having a cup of coffee, laughing and reminiscing.

Ms. Stitt was a beloved member of our Battle Bend community. We loved going on walks in the neighborhood and getting close to her home so we could stop and talk. You could usually find her on the porch by her front door. She loved our kids and was such a wonderful,  dear person. We are so sorry to hear of her passing.

My favorite memories with my grandma were sitting in her lap, or sitting on the porch with her and having coffee talks. In the mornings it was always so nice to sit and start the day with her after her cooking a delicious Slammin Breakfast. In the evenings after a walk, we would sit outside and  she always shared so many stories about my mom, my aunt, my uncle, and my grandpas. Because of her stories, I got to learn about so many people In my family.  She will hold a place in my heart forever. Her presence will be missed dearly, but I know that that welcoming party into Heaven was something special. Love you forever, Grandma! 

My Mother Ella will be remembered for her extraordinary example of living out her life in positivity, love and kindness. She taught all of her children and grandchildren that family was paramount and her peace and joy came from God. She had a selfless gift of putting others first,  truly listening  and making individuals feel  significant and valued.  Whether in walking with her neighbors, having a cup of coffee with friends or encouraging those who took care of her, being around my Mother was special. We all have received a precious gift by knowing Ella and will hopefully share her memories forward.

Nancy,Albert,Laurie.So sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom my Aunt Ella.I started writing cards and letters to your mom after mom could no longer write because of her stroke.I have a sympathy card from your mom from last March that I will cherish forever.So sorry that I never got to meet my Aunt Ella but the family pictures you sent me Nancy are priceless.I am sure the two Muse girls are having a real good catchup in Heaven after not seeing each other for 75years.Thinking about you folks at such a sad time.
