Elsa Magnolia Seiffert Townsend Our beloved Vovo, Elsa Magnolia Seiffert Townsend, 84, resident of Austin was called to heaven on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 with her family at her bedside. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Tyler Townsend, Jr., and her parents, Walter Paul Herman and Leonidia Freire Gameiro Seiffert. She was born in 1920 in Acre, Brasil and moved with her husband and four children to Austin in 1959. Her life besides her family was her church. As a member of St. Louis Catholic Church for 15 years and later St. Theresa's Catholic Church for 30 years she was actively involved in their many ministries from the ladies club to the prayer groups. She visited at least once a week for over 30 years the Heritage Duval Gardens Nursing Home comforting the residents and she worked over 25 years at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store, sometimes volunteering up to three times a week. She is survived by her children Charles Henry Tyler Townsend, III and his wife Ronnie; William Seiffert Townsend and his wife Carlyn; Edward Allen Townsend and his wife Barbara; Margaret Townsend de Cordon and her husband Adolfo; Patricia Townsend; her grandchildren, Lisa Townsend; Michael Lager and his wife Kari; James Lager; Carolyn Horton and her husband Scott; Will and his wife Allyson Townsend; Carl and his wife Julie Townsend; Heather Townsend; John Hebeler; Jennifer Earls; Leslie and her husband Brad Stephens; Lara and her husband Christopher Gradt; Hilary and Lainey Townsend; Anna Porta; Adolfo Cordon; Carlos Cordon; Beatriz Cordon; Andres Cordon; and her great-grand children, Charlotte Horton; Madeleine and Alexis Elsa Townsend; Gracie and Will Townsend; Brad Earls; Tyler and Kiersten Stephens; Lauren Gradt; and Estuardo, Antonio and Marianna Porta. Visitation begins Thursday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. and a Holy Rosary Service will be held on January 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, Texas 78731 (512) 451-5121. Graveside services will be held following the service, at Assumption Cemetery-Chapel Mausoleum at 3650 S IH 35, Austin, Texas 78704. Officiating at the services will be Msgr. Richard McCabe, Msgr.
