Emma Ruth Neece Scott, age 90, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Austin. She was born in Dallas and grew up in Waco. She attended Abilene Christian College, where she met her husband, James Edward Scott. They moved to Pasadena, Texas, where they had 3 children.
Emma Ruth was widowed in 1960. She owned a restaurant, The Candlewick Sweet Shoppe, and also worked at Olin Corporation, The Plank Company, and Speedshore in Houston.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Betty June Barkley, of Waco. She is survived by a sister, Virginia Kirk, and her children, Susan Scott Wigley of Charleston, SC, Robert Scott of Houston, and Sheryl Scott of Austin. She also has four grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan Scott-Nairns, Rachel Whitson and Deborah Scott and two great-grandchildren, Emily Whitson and Mason Nairns.
