Epifania "Eppie" Limón Carrillo

Eppie was born on January 12, 1942 in Austin. She was a devout member of Dolores Catholic Church for nearly 50 years, and a Godmother to many. Her kindness and generous spirit inspired and empowered many people. She was an avid educator for 27 years with the Del Valle School District. Eppie loved to dance, especially salsa. She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her “Circle of Friends” group, and her outings with her sister, Eva. She adored her grandchildren and made frequent trips each year to be with them.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Teofilo “Teo” Carrillo, both parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Carrillo, of Austin; her son, Tito Carrillo, daughter-in-law, Sara Lopez Carrillo and four grandchildren, Diego, Sofía, Teo and Elián, all of Urbana, Illinois; her sister, Eva Medel, of Austin; and sisters-in-law, Eloína, Eva, Rosita, Luz María, Hilda and Laura Carrillo, all of Puerto Rico; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2014 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd. starting at 5:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, TX 78741. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetary, 14501 N IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
