Erin Cecelia McGarrity Carlson passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July 12, 2014. Erin was born on March 17, 1922 in San Antonio and was the fourth of five sisters. She married Swede Carlson on October 17, 1946 and began her life as a military wife travelling to Japan, Hawaii and various other states, finally arriving in Austin in 1965.
Erin is preceded in death by her husband; son, Eric and daughter, Janet Scott.
She is survived by daughters, Karen and Christine; three grandkids, Mike, Matt and Karen Scott; son-in-law, Charles Scott; sister, Frances Beeley and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Erin was active in the community, always helping others. She mentored students at Del Valle ISD, volunteered at Eanes ISD, was a fire fighter with Rollingwood VFD, served as alderman for Rollingwood for several terms and delivered meals with good friend Flo Macklin for more than 25 years. We'd like to thank Amanda, Carlene and Ky for their loving care of mom.

Following a service at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 S Congress at 1:00 pm on July 26, 2014, we will celebrate Erin's life at her home in Rollingwood.
