

Ernest Eugene Leonard, 95, passed away December 29, 2006 after a brief illness. Mr. Leonard was born December 12, 1911 to Elbert and Susie Clark Leonard in Sunny Lane, Texas, Burnet County. After his military service as a surgical technician in the European Theater in WWII, he returned to Central Texas to begin his work as a stonemason and carpenter. A loving, joyous husband and uncle, Ernest enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and the outdoors. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Albina Mary Leonard; nieces; nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, January 1, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Wilke Clay Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress. Services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilke Clay Fish with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church, Austin, Texas. Pallbearers are A.J. Treybig, Ray Foyt, Hal Herbelin III, Justin Herbelin, Tim Ripperda, and Hal Herbelin, Jr. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff from Seton Medical Center Intermediate Care Unit and 6th floor and Gracy Woods I for the wonderful care given to Mr. Leonard.
