Estela P Maldonado

She was preceded in death by her husband, Baldemar “Baldo, her sisters, Catalina Skinner and Viola Leal and her grandson, Aaron Rodriguez.

She was a devoted mother, and her great passion was her family. She cared dearly for her children and her extended family. Family gatherings were always a time of good food and good stories. She enjoyed working in her garden, dancing, and playing dominoes.

She had a career working as a Social Worker for the Department of Human Services retiring in 1995. After she retired from the State, she spent a few years working for Capital Metro providing transportation for the elderly.

She is survived by her 8 children, Ernesto Maldonado (Angie), Mary Ann Rodriguez, Vilda Guerra (Alvino), Baldemar Maldonado, Jr. (Olga), Chris Maldonado (Nancy), Esteban Maldonado (Jolene), Matias Maldonado (Diana), Marcela Maldonado. Estela is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would also like to thank Estela’s caretakers, Margarita Rodriguez , Rosie Rodriguez, Deyis Hernandezil, and Laura Gonzalez Serena for their devotion and care of their mother.

Pallbearers will include Ernest Maldonado, Jr., Rick Rodriguez, Armando Guerra, Michael Maldonado, Celeste Pawlicki, Esteban Maldonado, Matias Dylan Maldonado, and Zachary Cervantes.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will occur Monday, August 30, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W Oltorf St, Austin, TX 78704, Austin, TX 78704. A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 South IH 35, Austin, TX 78704.
