Esther died peacefully on March 15, 2007. She was born Donna Esther Aline on Easter Sunday, April 8, 1917 in Salem, Oregon, the daughter of Francis Eugene Aline and Donna Alberta Hall Aline. She grew up in various locales in Oregon and Nebraska and started her college education at Oregon State University where she met Robert (Bill) Eakin. In 1939, Esther and Bill moved to Austin, Texas. They married in 1940 and raised four sons (Tim, Pat, Mike and Kelly) on the banks of Lake Austin. Esther received a B.A. with a major in Chemistry from the University of Texas in 1941 and worked as a research scientist for many years in the Zoology Department and in the Clayton Foundation Biochemical Institute at UT. In 1992, several years after being widowed, Esther married John Biesele. They enjoyed fifteen wonderful years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her brother Bob. She is survived by her husband John, her four sons, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
